Yeah. Even if it was produced in August, though, being able to foresee that Cedeno, Snyder and Ohlendorf might not be with the team this year should have been an easy call. Giving Cedeno the month of January was just an awful decision. Meanwhile, guys like Karstens and McDonald aren’t on there.
The Pirates gave out a calendar at PirateFest that’s fully updated.
You might have trouble coming up with twelve guys who are on the 25-man both 2011 and 2012. Though if they had just run 12 pictures of Cutch, who’d complain?
Right. The solution to that problem isn’t to feature pictures of players who won’t be with the team in ‘12. It’s to feature the PNC skyline, Clint Hurdle, the Pirate Parrot, etc. etc. etc. like the calendar made by the Pirates does.
Even as it stands, though, Karstens, McDonald, Presley, McKenry, No Relation and others all would have made more sense than some of the guys they picked.
back on December 20th, you mentioned you were interviewed for a documentary about the Pirates. You said it was about what it meant to be a fan of this franchise.
Can you provide any more details about this program? For instance, when will it be released, and where we can find more information? Sounds like it would be a good idea to post clips of this program on this blog when production is completed.
My mom went out looking for a Pirates monthly calendar like that. All she could find here in Iowa is a Steelers one. So I got a Steelers calendar instead. Meh….
I see
Ryan Doumit and Ronny Cedeno…
Ooops.
okcuhc111 - January 1, 2012
On closer inspection

Ryan DoumitChris Snyder and Ronny Cedeno…Still ooops.
okcuhc111 - January 1, 2012
On even closer inspection
Is that Ryan Doumit on the far left of the middle row?
okcuhc111 - January 1, 2012
No, that’s Alvarez.
There’s also Ross Ohlendorf on the right side in the middle row.
Charlie Wilmoth - January 1, 2012

Add in Pirates greats like Pops, Clemente and Cecilio Guante and you’ve got yourself a calendar!
maguro - January 1, 2012
What?
No love for Rod Scurry or Enrique Romo? lol
Brakeman8 - January 1, 2012
Hold onto that thing.
It’ll be a collector’s item one day, like those stamps with the upside-down airplane and the newspapers with the “DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN” headlines.
Worth millions.

It’s apparently a big project and it won’t be out for a while, maybe not until the end of the season or Spring Training 2013.
Charlie Wilmoth - January 1, 2012
He was still fi;ming
at PirateFest.
Spoke to me and Tom Smith and others…
cocktailsfor2 - January 1, 2012
So
it might actually be ready to synergize with the contending team of our dreams?
JRoth95 - January 2, 2012
Looks like.
Heh.
cocktailsfor2 - January 2, 2012
Darn.

IAPiratesFan - January 1, 2012
I got the exact same calendar, Charlie
I figure I’ll just tape Barmes’ face onto Cedeno, Barajas’ face onto Snyder, and Eric Bedard’s face overtop of Olendorf.
Garrett122 - January 1, 2012
Oh yeah
well I’ll go you one better. I’ll paste Tulowitzki’s face over Ronnie’s, Posey’s over Snyder’s and Cliff Lee’s over Ohlendorf’s.
Pagliaroni - January 1, 2012
+1
JRoth95 - January 2, 2012
You should see
my 2008 Pirates calendar. I pasted Ruth over Nady, Gehrig over LaRoche….
JRoth95 - January 2, 2012
hahaha
jackpot
Garrett122 - January 2, 2012
Hah!
I have the same thing in my kitchen. My mom just got it for me. Funny stuff indeed.
jlk9697 - January 2, 2012
Would have been more fun
to get a 2015 Pirate calendar…….
NHpiratefan - January 2, 2012
Don't need to pay for no stinking calendar.
I go to the home opener/closer every year, they hand out the magnetic ones, and they’re smart not to put anyone’s picture on them.
Besides, yours won’t stick to your refrigerator.
bucdaddy - January 2, 2012
here's your problem
it has a pirate playing baseball in october
johnnycuff - January 2, 2012
zing
WHYG Zane Smith - January 2, 2012
